Supersedes None (initial publication). Conduct rules previously scattered in the Client Terms, Technician Terms, and Conduct & Etiquette Guide are consolidated here.

This Acceptable Use Policy (this “AUP”) governs all use of the TechDashers Platform. Capitalized terms have the meaning in the Platform Terms of Service (the “Terms”).

1. Purpose and Incorporation

(a) Purpose. The Platform exists to facilitate lawful, professional technology diagnostics and repairs between Clients and independent Technicians. This AUP protects Clients, Technicians, the Company, and the integrity of payments, remote access, and communications.

(b) Incorporation. This AUP is incorporated into the Terms and, for Technicians, into the Independent Contractor Agreement (the “ICA”). A violation of this AUP is a material breach of those agreements.

(c) Updates. We may update this AUP as described in the Terms. The version and Last Updated date control.

2. Permitted Use of the Platform

You may use the Platform solely to:

  • request, schedule, perform, or pay for legitimate TechDashes;
  • communicate about an active or reasonably prospective ticket;
  • submit accurate quotes, photos, and documentation required to complete work;
  • leave honest reviews based on actual TechDashes; and
  • manage your account, payments, and support requests.

All other use is prohibited unless we expressly authorize it in writing.

3. Prohibited Conduct (all users)

You shall not, and shall not assist others to:

(a) Illegal activity. Violate any applicable law, including computer-crime, fraud, theft, stalking, harassment, weapons, drug-trafficking, or export-control laws.

(b) Harm and abuse. Threaten, stalk, sexually harass, discriminate unlawfully, or physically or verbally abuse any User, Company personnel, or bystander.

(c) False identity. Provide false name, credentials, address, or payment information; impersonate another person; or operate an account for a person under 18.

(d) Account abuse. Share accounts, create accounts to evade a ban, scrape the Platform, or probe our systems except through authorized security disclosure.

(e) Interference. Reverse engineer, overload, or disrupt the Platform, Edge Functions, realtime channels, or third-party services we use.

(f) Malware. Upload, transmit, or install viruses, worms, ransomware, infostealers, or other malicious code via the Platform or during a TechDash.

(g) Fraudulent tickets and reviews. Create fake tickets, fake quotes, fake GPS pings, manipulated photos, or fake, paid, or retaliatory reviews.

(h) Intellectual property. Infringe copyrights, trademarks, or trade secrets, including installing unlicensed software on a Client device as a “fix.”

(i) Privacy invasion. Dox, non-consensually distribute intimate images, or publish another User’s street address, chat, or documents except as needed for a lawful TechDash or report to the Company or law enforcement.

4. Prohibited Remote-Access and Cybersecurity Conduct

Remote access is temporary, Client-supervised, and ticket-scoped. During or in connection with any TechDash, you shall not:

(a) Unauthorized access. Access files, accounts, cameras, microphones, password managers, email, banking, or networks beyond what is reasonably necessary to diagnose or repair the stated issue.

(b) Persistence and RATs. Install, configure, or leave behind unauthorized remote-access tools, support “backdoors,” hidden user accounts, scheduled tasks, or persistence mechanisms other than the Platform-provisioned Getscreen session, and then only for the active ticket. You shall not substitute AnyDesk, TeamViewer, Chrome Remote Desktop, RDP, VNC, or similar tools to circumvent the Platform session, except where the Client expressly requests a documented, in-session workaround and the workaround is not used to move the job off-platform.

(c) Credential harvesting. Copy, photograph, export, or store Client passwords, cookies, session tokens, SSH keys, recovery codes, wallet seeds, or MFA secrets.

(d) Crypto-mining and resource abuse. Use Client devices to mine cryptocurrency, farm points, send spam, or run unrelated workloads.

(e) Security-control bypass. Disable antivirus, firewalls, MDM, or logging except as reasonably required for the approved repair, and only after explaining the change to the Client. You must restore or disclose residual changes at the end of the session.

(f) Network pivoting. Use the Client network to attack third parties, scan unrelated hosts, or exfiltrate data.

(g) Unsupervised control. As a Technician, continue controlling a device after the Client asks to stop, or after you know the Client is no longer present, except to immediately disconnect.

(h) Invite-code misuse. Share Getscreen invite codes or Agora channels with anyone other than the ticket participants and authorized Company support.

(i) Recording remote desktops. Record, livestream, or screenshot a Client desktop for purposes other than a narrowly tailored diagnostic image the Client authorizes (for example, a single error-dialog photo in chat).

Clients shall not invite a Technician to access systems the Client does not own or lack authority to authorize (for example, an employer laptop in violation of policy, or a third party’s account).

5. Prohibited Communications Conduct

You shall not:

(a) Non-consensual recording. Record voice or video of another User without all-party consent required by Florida law and the Terms.

(b) Harassment in chat or calls. Use chat, voice, or video to threaten, solicit sexual content, or bombard a User after they ask you to stop.

(c) Spam and advertising. Send unrelated marketing, pyramid schemes, or political spam through Platform communications.

(d) Off-platform diversion. Use chat or calls to move the relationship onto personal phone numbers, social media, or other payment apps for the purpose of circumventing the Platform.

(e) Sensitive-data fishing. Request that a Client dictate full Social Security numbers, full card PANs, or account passwords into chat. Necessary diagnostics should use in-person observation by the Client or password-reset flows the Client controls.

6. Payments, Chargebacks, and Off-Platform Circumvention

You shall not:

(a) Circumvent Stripe. Collect cash, Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, crypto, wire, or “friends and family” payment for work originating on the Platform.

(b) Rate Card evasion. Discount or surcharge off-Rate-Card in exchange for off-platform payment, or coerce a Client to approve a quote by threatening to abandon a captured hold.

(c) Chargeback abuse. Initiate a card-network dispute, Apple Pay claim, or similar reversal for a valid charge without first using the in-app 48-hour dispute process, or in order to obtain free labor or hardware.

(d) Stolen payment methods. Use a payment method you are not authorized to use.

(e) Payout fraud. Manipulate ticket status, GPS, or completion marks to trigger payouts for work not performed.

(f) Hardware diversion. Procure, resell, or invoice parts off-platform for a Platform ticket, or substitute counterfeit goods.

Violation may result in deactivation, forfeiture of pending payouts as permitted by the ICA and law, recovery of lost Platform fees, and reporting to payment networks or law enforcement.

7. Illegal Content; Mandatory Reporting

(a) Zero tolerance. You may not use the Platform or a TechDash to create, possess, or distribute child sexual abuse material, content depicting sexual exploitation of minors, or other illegal content.

(b) Technician mandatory reporting. If, during a TechDash, a Technician discovers apparent child sexual abuse material, evidence of imminent physical violence, or similarly serious illegal material, the Technician shall:

  1. immediately cease diagnostic work that is not required to preserve evidence as directed by law enforcement;
  2. not copy, share, or further view the material except as required by law;
  3. disconnect remote control if safe to do so;
  4. report to TechDashers management at [email protected] and [email protected]; and
  5. report to appropriate law enforcement as required by law (including, where applicable, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children reporting channels).

(c) No assistance with cybercrime. Technicians shall not help Clients hack third-party accounts, bypass others’ licensing, clone payment cards, or defeat criminal investigations.

(d) Weapons and dangerous instructions. The Platform may not be used to obtain assistance in building explosives, illegal weapons, or similarly dangerous illegal projects.

8. On-Site Safety and Premises Rules

(a) Safe workplace. Clients shall provide a reasonably safe premises, disclose hazards (including aggressive pets, firearms in the work area, or structural risks), and ensure an adult is present.

(b) Weapons and intoxication. Users shall not brandish weapons or participate in a TechDash while impaired by drugs or alcohol in a manner that creates a safety risk.

(c) Technician conduct on-site. Technicians shall not rummage through unrelated rooms or personal effects, bring unauthorized guests, or remain after the Client asks them to leave (except to retrieve tools and Client property in an orderly way).

(d) Client equipment in vehicles. Technicians shall not leave Client equipment unattended in a vehicle or exposed to heat, theft, or weather.

(e) Refusal right. Either party may cancel and leave (or disconnect) if they reasonably fear for their safety. Report the incident to the Company immediately.

9. Technician-Specific Professional Restrictions

In addition to the foregoing, Technicians shall not:

(a) PII retention. Duplicate, export, or store Client personal information, private files, or credentials on personal devices, clouds, or USB drives except as mechanically necessary for the repair, and shall delete any such copies when no longer needed for that ticket.

(b) NIST sanitization. If removing storage media for disposal or recycling, sanitize according to NIST SP 800-88 (or successor) before destruction or recycling, and document the method in the ticket.

(c) ESD and physical care. Observe industry-standard ESD precautions when handling exposed components, as further described in Technician standards referenced by the ICA.

(d) Badge and presentation. For on-site work, carry and display the Platform-verified digital identification badge upon request.

(e) Documentation. Submit a Quote or completion report for every diagnostic session, including when hardware is non-repairable.

(f) Abandonment. Abandon an accepted ticket without Platform status updates. Inactivity rules in the ICA (including 48/72-hour unlink) apply.

(g) Insurance circumvention. Perform off-platform work for a Platform-introduced Client, which voids 1099Policy and related protections.

(h) Unauthorized software. Install unlicensed, pirated, or “cracked” software.

10. Client-Specific Restrictions

In addition to the foregoing, Clients shall not:

(a) Unauthorized systems. Request work on devices, networks, or accounts the Client does not own or lack authority to authorize.

(b) Unhidden sensitive data. Knowingly leave financial, medical, or similarly sensitive material in view during remote control and then assert that ordinary observation of that material is a Platform breach (see Terms Section 23).

(c) Backup refusal. Proceed with a TechDash after refusing to back up critical data and then treat ordinary diagnostic risk as our or the Technician’s strict liability.

(d) Unsafe conditions. Require a Technician to work in an unsafe location, or to violate law (for example, unauthorized access to an employer system).

(e) Harassment of Technicians. Use ratings, disputes, or chargebacks as retaliation unrelated to the quality of the TechDash.

(f) Session sharing. Share remote invite codes with additional third parties not disclosed on the ticket.

11. Investigations; Spot Audits; Enforcement

(a) Investigations. We may investigate suspected AUP violations using chat transcripts, call metadata, quotes, payment records, location pings, uploaded photos, terms-acceptance logs, and information from payment processors or other Users.

(b) Spot Audits. We may conduct periodic audits for Rate Card compliance, off-platform solicitation, and safety, as described in the Terms.

(c) Enforcement. We may, without prior notice where we reasonably believe delay would cause harm:

  • issue warnings;
  • suspend or permanently deactivate accounts;
  • cancel tickets and reverse or retain funds as the Terms and ICA allow;
  • forfeit or withhold Technician payouts pending investigation;
  • recover lost Platform fees and chargeback costs;
  • report to law enforcement, card networks, or screening vendors; and
  • pursue arbitration or court remedies.

(d) No private right to dictate enforcement. Other Users cannot compel us to impose a particular sanction, except as a court or arbitrator may order.

(e) Preservation. We may preserve data related to an investigation even if a User requests deletion, as described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Relationship to ToS, Privacy Policy, and ICA

(a) Order of documents. This AUP is part of the Terms. The Privacy Policy describes how we process personal information during enforcement. The ICA adds Technician compensation, classification, insurance, and debt-recovery terms; it does not authorize any AUP-prohibited act.

(b) Reports. Report AUP violations in-app where available, or email [email protected]. For suspected child exploitation, use Section 7 channels immediately.

(c) Contact.
